Makes me want to do it too!
Makes me want to do it too!
Here I am at 6:36 am on a Saturday morning blogging…What does that mean? Yep, you guessed it, I’m still jet lagged! And it’s been 6 days we’re back from France!!!! It normally takes me 2, to get back on track.
What’s going on? Am I getting older and my body just doesn’t react as quickly as before? Whatever the reason is, it’s very annoying. I did not got to bed later than 9:30pm all week because my whole being was being deprived of any energy left to stay awake past that time.
Thursday night, I went to a dance class thinking it would force me to stay awake longer and couldn’t even finish because I felt like I could fall on my face any time. It was time for me to sleep!
I don’t know what to do…maybe I should take naps whenever I want during the day so that I don’t feel as tired at night. I mean, all I’m asking is to go to bed at maybe 10 or 10:30, so I’m guaranteed to sleep until 7 or 8 on the weekends…NOT 6am!
I found this video on one of Federated Media’s blogs (Dragon Head Almost Destroyed Me, aka DHADM).
It’s basically a video parody of Black Eyed Peas’ “My Humps” by Alanis Morissette. Fu-nny! Plus, she almost made that song sound like an awesome ballade, if you don’t listen to the lyrics… Check it ouuut!
2 weeks in France…really too short! I could have easily stayed 1 more. It’s OK. We did everything we wanted to do and saw everyone I wanted to see.
To sum it up, we started in Paris for a couple days, then TGVed down to Avignon, trained to Arles, drove to Pertuis going through Les-Beaux-en-Provence, and to Cannes. Spent one small week in Nice and then night trained back to Paris for a couple more days. Justin has the extensive, visual and narrative version of this itinerary, which I don’t intend to duplicate.
And so we’re back since last night and have been to work today. Jet lagged? Yes, I am! The afternoon was rough, and right now I feel like I’m going to collapse on the keyboard. But no!!! I need to stay awake for at least 2 hours.
What should I do? Unpack? Maybe, maybe not. Cruise the net? Maybe, maybe not. Keep writing? Nah, I would make too many typos (if not already). Go read the new Asterix I got? Ah Ha! That sounds like a plan.

Not having much time to blog, here’s the short version.
Our trip was pretty rough to get to Paris, but we made it yesterday at around 2pm at our hotel in the 6th arrondissement.
After a little rest/shower, we managed to visit Notre-Dame de Paris, walk around many little cute streets, hear accordionists play in random places (I thought it was a myth) see the Centre George Pompidou, eat a croque-monsieur, a nutella crepe, sit at 3 cafes, eat a delicious raclette, take the metro at least 4 or 5 times and strangely feel like we took our time.
Tonight we have plans for dinner with a friend and the intention to see many things before that.
Yey for Paris! I love it!
I can’t stop thinking about our trip to France!!! We’re leaving tomorrow and I can’t wait. No really, I cannot wait. My heart beats at an unusual rate today. My chest feels a little tense. My mind, is in French mode. I definitely will be skipping coffee today or I may have a heart attack!
Last night, we started packing already!!! Well, because we did laundry, and might as well just transfer clean clothes into the suitcase than into the closet and back to the suitcase. But it’s the earliest I’ve ever packed! 2 nights before a trip? It’s a first.
I feel like a little kid looking forward to Christmas. And my presents to bring back will be:
-kleenex
-wine
-pastis
-mayonaise (yes, it is better there and it comes in a tube!)
-herbes de provence
-easy bechamel packs
-pralinoise (very little known in America, but so yummy….think hazelnut/almond chocolate cooking bar)
-tea
-pants
-shoes
-cool clothes in general
-music (or at least a list of cool stuff)
-books (to keep my French going…plus, I almost finished the one I’m reading right now)
-awesome culinary memories
-awesome adventure memories
-pictures, lots of them!
-the sensation of being replenished by my roots and filled with energy
-the reasons why I don’t live there anymore
-anecdotes
-the desire to go back and explore other places
-the desire to explore other places
-less love handles
-inspiration to cook more delicious French stuff
Any other suggestions?
